As a local land trust dedicated to preserving open space and natural areas, the Willistown Conservation Trust (WCT) in Pennsylvania works with private landowners primarily through conservation easements to perpetually protect the land from encroaching suburban development.

Initially formed in 1979 as a satellite program of the Brandywine Conservancy, WCT has thus far protected nearly 7,200 acres of land. The impressive achievement wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the generous support from the community and the collective contributions from WTC volunteers.
